Georgia Tech Honors TUFF Founder Tom Hall

Georgia Tech has honored TUFF founder and longtime Board Chair Thomas H. Hall, III, IE ’58, with the dedication of the Thomas H. Hall, III Multipurpose Room within the new Val and Bud Peterson Residence Halls. The recognition celebrates Tom’s more than four decades of service to Georgia Tech and the vision that led him, alongside fellow Georgia Tech alumni Frank Smith and Richard Whitehead, to create TUFF in 1982 when the Institute needed a new way to finance critical research facilities. What began with a single research building grew into a partnership that has supported nearly $500 million in research and innovation facilities serving Georgia Tech, including several buildings that helped establish Technology Square.
